The story begins with Lt. Blueberry, a former cavalry officer turned wanderer, traveling through the desert on horseback. As he rides through the harsh landscape, he encounters various challenges that test his endurance and courage.
During his journey, Blueberry stumbles upon a small frontier town plagued by a gang of outlaws led by a notorious bandit named Ironhead. The townspeople are terrorized by Ironhead's gang, who extort money and resources from them. Blueberry, always ready to stand up for justice, decides to take on Ironhead and his gang.
